Maria Rios has been teaching piano for 40 years. She enjoys teaching students of all ages but specializes in teaching beginners and musical theory. She enjoys playing and arranging popular styles.
Maria is from Asuncion, Paraguay. Growing up, she studied music with distinguished professor, Leonor Aranda. She graduated from the university of Asuncion with a degree in biochemistry, and pharmacy.
Since music is her passion, she has continued to advance her music career by studying music throughout the years. She has completed courses from Berkley School of Music, and is currently studying with professor Ralph Hedges.
Maria's teaching philosophy is to build a strong base in music fundamentals.
Each lesson is custom designed for each student according to their needs and abilities. Students learn Classical and Popular styles, and receive an introduction to composition, theory and improvisation.
